First sunset and sunrise in December
Awendaw Creek, SC
We were the only boat in the anchorage. |
A very scary bridge between Charleston and Savannah...a double bascule, one side was broken so we had to weave our way through with a 3 knot current and a 60 foot mast.
Marc commented to the bridge tender after we passed through..."thank you very much for the opening bridge tender but I have to tell you...that was NOT fun! |
| Charleston!!! Jon and a friend happened to be there that weekend for a disc golf tournament so they stopped by the boat for a beer. |
| Yup...pigs in Charleston too. |
| A typical Charleston home on one of the main streets |
| We chanced upon "The Annual Reindeer Run" in Charleston...everybody, including pets, dressed up in holiday costumes! |
| Airing out the bedding in Bull Creek, a beautiful secluded anchorage on the way to Savannah. |
Miles and miles of this on the ICW, pretty in a desolate sort of way.
We're looking...but haven't seen any alligators yet! |
| Savannah at last! Jon found us free dock space for the 4 days that we were there at a condo of a friend of his. |
| One of my favorite book stores ever....E. Shaver in Savannah. Got most of my Christmas presents there this year! |
| Jon and Marc on River Street...this was taken from the deck of a tall ship I was touring, The Peacemaker. |
| Tankers and tugs everywhere in the Savannah River....glad we are at a dock over in Thunderbolt. |
| "The Peacemaker" Savannah River |
| Marc and Jon, City Market, Savannah |
| Just me and my good buddy Johnny Mercer! |
| Jon and Marc decorating Alderaan for Christmas! |
| Festive, eh? But not quite like home. Feeling a little homesick for New England and family and friends these days with the holidays coming up :( |
| The annual Savannah Holiday Boat Parade went right past our dock on Saturday night! Fun! |
